Shree Khambhat Dasha Modh Adalji Vanik Pragati Mandal

Our society was established in the year 1968 and today we are celebrating the golden jubilee festival. My congratulations and best wishes to you all on this occasion.

The idea of establishing the society first came to Shri Ratilal Hiralal Shah. An invitation was received from the Modha Vanik Samaj to join the Mandal, but to establish our own Mandal, Mr. Ratilal Hiralal Chokavatia, Shantilal Chunilal Shah and other Mowdis of the caste proposed to form a Mandal. It got cooperation from Shri Dhanwantbhai Shah. He had vast experience in managing the congregation and all of them came together to establish the congregation.

It is a matter of pride for us that earlier the constitution of the society was formulated which included cultural and educational activities. There was gradual progress. Starting with a very meager fund, giving notebooks and pamphlets to school-college students. The congregation started getting financial support from some donors, well-wishers and sannaris. SSC First, second and third prizes were given to the students who passed in Conducting essay competitions and giving prizes. The solid foundation they laid, as a result we are eating the sweet fruit. Of the 15 members of the first executive committee of the association, Mr. Shantibhai Chunilal Shah, Mrs. Kokilaben Shantilal Shah, Mrs. Hemanti Arvindlal Shah, Mr. Suresh Jaswantlal Vakil are still alive. Our former President Shri Shantilal Chunilal Shah and Mrs. Kokilaben are not able to participate in the activities due to ill health but their blessings are with us. The same Mr. Subodhabhai Shah is not with us today, but as the Secretary of the Society and then as the Treasurer, he did excellent work for our Society. At the end of the first administrative year the membership of the congregation was 309 including 13 rabbis, 23 life members and 246 lay members, as well as 27 assistant members. Today our congregation has 669 members. In which there are 6 murabis, 638 life members and 29 ordinary members which shows that more and more castes have been participating in the activities of the congregation. Finally I would like to thank all the well wishers of the congregation. Our auditors may. Chotalal H. Shah and said. And Mandalvati is very thankful to his partners Mr. Ketan Patel and Vimal Desai for the constant guidance they have received. Especially my husband late. I express my gratitude to Bhikhubhai Shah on behalf of myself and the congregation. He continued to serve the congregation till his lifetime, which made it possible to obtain the 80-G certificate.
